Method #2: Using an App from the Google Play Store

It is not necessary to have a rooted device in order to recover deleted photos. There are several applications for Android which lets you recover deleted photos even if you do not have a rooted Android device.
Here, we have mentioned two of the most popular apps that does the work on any Android device (rooted or not, does not matter).

1. DigDeep Image Recovery (Rooted / Non-rooted device)

Using a recovery app has never been this easy. As soon as you launch the app, it would start searching for the deleted photos. In my case, it completed the search in a couple of seconds but the time required to complete the scan would vary.
After the search completes, tap on a folder and then select the images to recover as shown in the image above.
Note: It displays quite a few images that already exist on your device. So, there is nothing to worry about if you observe the same.

2. DiskDigger photo recovery (Rooted / Non-rooted )

DiskDigger offers a free version and a premium version as well. The DiskDigger Pro would cost you 2.99 USD. And, if you just want to recover the photos and videos (with limited functionalities), you can keep the free version installed.
However, the premium version is definitely worth the price, given that you have a rooted device.
It is one of the best apps that I have ever tried to recover deleted photos on Android and fortunately I was able to recover 2000+ precious images from one of my old (but rooted) device.
When you launch the app, you will be able to multiple memory partitions. You have to select the one from which you want to recover the deleted photos. Let us take a look at how you can do that.
Note: We have used the DiskDigger Pro version. If the free version does not work as expected, consider using the pro version to help recover deleted photos on Android.

Steps to use DiskDigger Pro file recovery

Step #1: Launch the app and select the desired memory partition.
Step #2: Select the type of files you want to recover. In this case, select JPGPNG, and GIF (optional).

Step #4: It would take a couple of minutes (here, 5 minutes) to complete the scan. After it is complete, you can mark the images you want to restore and click on “Recover” or you can select all of the images at once and then click on “Recover”.

Method #3: Using Google Photos

Of course, using Google photos will not help in recovering the deleted photos if you have never utilized it before. We would recommend keeping a backup of your photos on Google photos from the next time.
In case, you had “Backup & sync” enabled on Google Photos, you can easily restore them.
If you use Google Photos as the primary gallery application on your device, then you can simply head on to the “Trash” and select the photos you want to restore as shown in the image below.

If you deleted the images right from a custom default gallery app (not Google Photos), then you would have to individually restore the pictures from Google photos to keep them for offline use.

Conclusion

So, you can be sure that there are chances to recover deleted photos on Android. If you do not have a rooted device, there might be a problem in recovering all of the photos you lost but if you do have a rooted device the recovery process would be more perfect.
In either way, you can ignore using such services and applications to recover deleted photos on Android. Instead, start using Google photos to keep a backup of your precious moments that you do not want to lose ever again.
Alternatively, you can upload and keep a backup of all your photos using some of the cloud storage services available which include – Google DriveMega.nzBackblaze,DropBox and other known similar services.
